I am making reference cards for a fashion drawing class. I want the notes to explain what is actually visible in each drawing. An exaggerated pose makes it hard to tell what comes from the garment itself. I put body shape and colour analysis on my reading list while looking for clearer terminology. Before using any category, I would compare a neutral standing pose with the finished sketch. Then I would mark the shoulder line, the waist placement and the hem width. A monochrome version might make the shape discussion easier to keep focused. Our tutor asks us to distinguish observation from interpretation, and I want the cards to make that distinction visible to the whole class. Does anyone have a classroom exercise for checking whether a style description is reproducible? I would appreciate a method that works with simple sketches and clearly stated observations.
